Service Plumbing Manager

This position is responsible for management activities, including establishing department development plans for installation, service, and maintenance.  Also responsible for following and enforcing policies and procedures to ensure the company fulfills its contractual obligations for service repair, installations and maintenance in accordance with profit objectives and directives.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead Service Technicians
  • Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, training, managing, and evaluating field technicians
  • Assists technicians with quoting and estimating for customers
  • Partners with lead technicians to facilitate training and development for department
  • Conduct ride-a-longs with technicians and provide feedback
  • Ensure all repairs and installs are completed to the highest quality standards and if necessary, all permits are obtained
  • Communicate and monitor goals
  • Responsible for managing work load and schedules to best utilize manpower and maximizes profits
  • Ensure technicians are being dispatched effectively by coordinating with the dispatch office
  • Assist technicians with issues while in the field
  • Facilitate department meetings daily
  • Resolve customer issues or concerns to ensure complete satisfaction
  • Ensure all department operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, federal and company requirements and codes
  • Ensure all team members comply with safety standards
  • Harness a safety culture
  • Provide feedback to owners regarding market trends, revenue opportunities, customer issues, and all issues relevant to the business
  • Manage and stay within department budget
  • Achieve budgeted gross margin and expected KPIs
  • Attend a minimum of 1 SGI expo (preferably 2) per year
  • Become familiar and utilize SGI resources
  • Engage in educational, professional and personal development opportunities (ongoing)
  • Maximize lead opportunities, retain and grow Club Membership clients
  • Manage inventory and equipment
  • Review, approve new products and services
  • Perform clerical duties associated with, but not limited to, field technician paperwork, personnel evaluations, and expense reports
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in the plumbing trade with experience on commercial construction job sites
  • Thorough knowledge of plumbing theory, methods, practices, tools, and equipment
  • Organizational skills to process required job site paperwork
  • Strong team building and leadership skills
  • Good analytical skills and attention to details with the ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans and manuals
  • Journeyman and/or Master license is a plus
