No, we’re not making this up. There really is a National Bathroom Reading Month, compliments of the Bathroom Readers’ Institute of Ashland, OR.
“Since 1988, the Bathroom Readers’ Institute has led the movement to stand up for those who sit down and read in the bathroom. National Bathroom Reading Month celebrates the 66 percent of Americans who proudly admit to this time-honored pastime.”
Since they publish the Uncle John’s Bathroom Reader series and have over 10 million books in print, we’ll take their word that they seem to know what they’re talking about.
If you’re one of the 66% who do, wouldn’t you wish to maximize your comfort while seated on your reading throne? Even if you’re not part of the alleged 66% (or you prefer not to admit so), there is no escaping the fact that we do spend significant amounts of time over the course of our lives using a toilet. Depending on who we research or talk to (and whatever math calculations are used), the amount of time spent on the commode averages out to 3 to 4 years in the course of an average lifetime.
Or more if one really is part of the aforementioned 66%.
Okay, so where are we going with this? Well, many of us like to read, so we’ll happily promote reading. It’s a great alternative to watching TV. We would also suggest that you give us a call at Brubaker Inc. and talk to us about replacing that commode that you spend so much time on. Especially if it is not a low water consumption toilet.
With a new water-saving toilet from Brubaker Inc. you can save both money and our most precious natural resource, water.
After we install it for you, go ahead and try out your new summertime reading material on it.
We won’t tell anyone.
