Lancaster Toyota Amphitheater in East Petersburg is Dedicated
Brubaker Inc. lends a hand (and a backhoe) in the construction of this neighborhood gem
Saturday May 5th was the annual East Petersburg Day in the East Petersburg Community Park. There was a special occasion, the opening and dedication of the beautiful Lancaster Toyota Amphitheater.
Originally the dream of East Petersburg Rotary Club member Ed Cericola, this project was over 20 years in the making. From his first vision, all the way through the fundraising, procuring of materials, labor and equipment contributions over two decades, to this day, many hands were involved in bringing this dream to reality. We at Brubaker Inc. are honored to have been a part of this through the contribution of excavation phases of this project.
It was Ed’s desire to replace the old band shell in the Community Park. Ed passed away in 2009, but his dream lived on to build an amphitheater for our community. The community is thrilled with the results, as we believe Ed would have been too.
With a budget of a little over $200,000.00, this project was financed completely through private efforts. No taxpayer money was involved.
Emceed by WGAL8’s Lori Burkholder, recognition and thanks was extended to the key underwriter, Lancaster Toyota. Also, East Petersburg Rotary Club and the many other supporters and participants in this project were recognized. There was a special introduction of the East Hempfield Township Police Department’s newest K9 officer, Tundra. Lancaster Toyota has generously underwritten the K9 officer program for East Hempfield Police for almost 10 years now. Tundra, named after the Toyota Tundra, is the second generation K9 officer for the East Hempfield Township Police.
The East Petersburg Events Committee is a non-profit, 100% volunteer organization that uses no tax payer money. Their mission is to host family friendly events that are of mutual interest to both the visitors and residents of East Petersburg; in effort to strengthen their town through fostering community involvement and spirit.
