I have an older house that has 2-prong outlets instead of 3-prong. Is this a problem?
Not necessarily, although there are fewer appliances out there with only 2-prong plugs. The third prong is for grounding purposes. To maximize safety, it would be a good idea to change out your old 2-prong outlets to 3-prong and if your wiring system has a ground wire in the receptacle boxes, connect it to the ground screw on your new 3-prong receptacles.
