The Keystone Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors held its annual Craft Competition on Saturday October 20th, 2018 at their beautiful Manheim – Mount Joy facility.  Representing Brubaker Inc. was Anthony Hartz, one of our plumbing service technicians.  He is completing his 4th year in ABC’s Apprenticeship Training program.

This event was the culmination of October’s Celebrating Careers in Construction Month at ABC Keystone.  At the end of the day, Anthony was the high scorer in the plumbing competition!

A Hempfield High School grad, he has been with Brubaker Inc. for three years now.  As noted he is in his fourth and final year in ABC’s Apprenticeship Training program.

He came to develop an interest in plumbing and eventually decided to pursue a career in the trade after spending his childhood watching and helping his father, who also was a plumber.  As a plumbing service technician for Brubaker Inc. and a continuing student, Anthony enjoys learning and having a variety of work experiences that comes with this trade.  “This is a skill that you will always have; nobody can take that away from you”, he says.

With his honor at ABC Keystone’s Craft Competition, Anthony has now earned an all-expenses paid trip to Long Beach, California!  There he will compete in ABC’s National Craft Competition, to be held in March of 2019 against the best ABC apprentices from around the country.  In addition to Anthony, ABC Keystone will be sending five representatives in the craft trades of carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and sheet metal fabrication.

Our congratulations to you, Anthony!  Your focus and determination has rewarded you.  All of us here at Brubaker Inc. are proud of you and wish you the very best!

We’re glad to see that others are taking notice of Anthony’s prowess as his accomplishment has been picked up by LNP!
