Thanks to All who helped in our Spring 2019 Adopt-a-Highway Litter Cleanup
A special shout out to Davita Dialysis for joining us this year!
After off-and-on rain the last few days, we were unsure if the Saturday April 27th, 2019 Adopt-A-Highway litter cleanup at Brubaker Inc. would take place.
However, with the front coming through, we had clear, cool, and breezy conditions, making the cleanup event downright delightful!
We at Brubaker Inc. are responsible for approximately two miles of roadway along Route 741 from Rohrerstown to Route 283. In a little more than 2 hours over a dozen bags of trash, along with building materials, an automobile hood, various other trash and car parts and a roll of carpet foam were collected.
There was one ‘mystery bag’ that we came upon. We were reluctant to take a peek at what was inside it. Fortunately, being that it was rather lightweight, it was easy to move onto the truck. Upon inspection it only contained carpet padding and foam remnants.
We often find some interesting items during our Adopt-a-Highway events. This one was no different— between the full lengths of vinyl siding, trim, and uni-strut material, the truck got rather full by the time we were completed. Someone even managed to leave a car hood behind in the brush! One of our volunteers, Aiden, told us that it belongs (or belonged) to a BMW!
Many thanks to all who helped to make the roadway and neighborhood a little cleaner! We especially want to extend out thanks to our neighbors, the employees of Davita Suburban Campus Dialysis facility at 2100 Harrisburg Pike who joined us today. We were glad to have them be a part of the event!
We’re always grateful to have our neighbors join us for this event. Let us know if you would like to participate with us in the future!
